The Way of Tomorrow™
Amazing shifts are occurring. They impact all levels of society, business, and personal life. Enabled by technology and empowered by deep human desires, these shifts both create and destroy. A fundamental reversal of decades of business and personal foundations is rapidly evolving. This is more than a trend - more than a change – it is a new way of being.
Areas leading these changes are: Society, Technology, Consumers, Communications, and Individuals. Massive, connected and simultaneous movements dramatically and permanently affect each of these areas and certainly professional services.
“The Way of Tomorrow” is a presentation on a future that is literally exploding before us. Jerry reveals trends, concepts, and movements in understandable, clear language. And he suggests actions that organizations and individuals can take to become part of the future – or to understand it – and to be comfortable.
The presentation can be used as a stand-alone keynote address or as the basis of an extensive open discussion or workshop afterward. The use of interactive teams for possible actions is the workshop format. It is best as an opening speech for a convention or regional gathering as well as an opening session for a planning or visioning conference.
Creating Your Success: Using a tough market to build a better future
All businesses have cycles. So does real estate. The real estate market has changed and the impact on Realtors has been quite dramatic. But with change and cycles there is always great opportunity.
“Creating your Success”, is an exploration of current real estate trends and future projections in the midst of a business cycle shift. It then explains new concepts that could change the industry in the future. Finally, comments on practical steps to take now are offered. The areas of consumers, real estate business, and technology are highlighted. The presentation points: Transactions Redefined, Social Media, Technology Leverage, Communications Revolution, Consumer Power, Transparency and Trust, Physical or Virtual, and Personal Impact.
The presentation can be a separate session or a workshop to develop solutions among participants. It is ideal for a Broker Conference, Membership Meeting, Leadership Orientation, or Convention. “Creating your Success” is focused on conquering the current tough market for future success. Get ready for a new cycle and an awesome world ahead.
SURVIVAL: The Responsibility of Leadership
The current real estate market shift has impacted Associations. The leadership of Associations – the elected officers and the AE - is challenged in multiple ways. Most have never experienced such concerns. “Survival” is a group of three sessions that addresses these concerns and opportunities: Association Survival, Leadership Responsibilities, and Creating a New Association.
Association Survival: A session that reviews the current status and actions for Associations to take in this down market. It evaluates adjustments in programs, products, and services as well as strong, optional steps to be a lean organization. Group discussion occurs after presentation on concepts and useful ideas.
Topics: Budget Adjustments; Program, Product, and Service Adjustments; Personnel Adjustments; Reserves; Audits; Adjustment Messages / Communications; New Programs, Products, and Services
Leadership Responsibilities: A presentation on personal challenges to AEs and Presidents in past and current recessions and practical suggestions. Group discussion occurs after presentation on personal concerns of the Presidents and AEs attending. Session is a positive group-counseling event.
Topics: New Roles, Member Changes, Leadership Challenges, Employee Changes, Tough Topics, Outreach, Self Preservation
Creating a New Association: A presentation on taking advantage of opportunity in a changing market to create a new Association. Teams create ideas on the future Association and group discussion on best concepts.

Transform: Creating a New Association
In any business downturn there is great opportunity. The most successful firms in every industry increase market share with actions taken during recessions. The changed real estate market has negatively altered most Realtor associations. But some will take advantage in this down time, and prosper.
The real estate business will be different after this downturn. Expectations of associations will change. Associations can position now to be a new organization when the market cycles back. The areas leading this transformation are: Professional Skills, Member Relations, Communications, Business Information and Technology, and Public Policy.
“Transform: Creating a New Association” is a session that analyses trends affecting real estate and creates a plan for associations to be of value in the future. Powerful Results: Craft new programs or services that are most valuable in the future, Define the new demands of our members, Clarify association’s role to advance the evolved profession, Create an organization of real value to members, Use the new communications methods to your advantage
“Transform” is ideal for a single association planning session or a group of associations at a conference or regional meeting. Subject experts can be added for targeted topic areas.
Fine-Tune: Adjusting to Rapid Change
Dramatic market moves challenge everything. Plans made just months ago are rendered invalid by radical change. New decisions are pressured - even frantic. There is a better way to handle these sudden, unexpected events.
“Fine-Tune: Adjusting to Rapid Change” is a session that addresses quick market changes - or other severe challenges - having a major effect on members and the association. A high impact plan is created that will complement any existing Strategic or Business Plan. Also, it will prevent irrational decisions that could have negative long-term consequences. Specific results: Updated strategic or business plan to current events, Defined member’s expectations, Action steps needed in key areas because of new challenges, Selected programs, products, and services most valuable now, Validated budgetary shifts, cuts, and enhancements
“Fine-Tune” is ideal for a single association planning session. However, it can also be a presentation for a group of associations at a regional meeting or conference. Subject experts can be added for targeted topic areas.
Riding the Cycle
“Riding the Cycle” is a presentation on trends both inside and outside of real estate that effect the business. It includes impact of business cycles. Broad trend areas discussed are consumers, real estate business, and technology. Current trends are presented in each area then followed by the developing future trends for each one. Jerry also covers the impact of these on each of us personally. He closes with suggestions on how to recognize and handle future changes.
The presentation can be used as a stand-alone address or as the basis of an open discussion or workshop afterward. It has been used as a keynote speech for a convention or regional gathering as well as a thought provoking opening session for a planning or leadership or education conference.
The Association of the Future
“The Association of the Future” is a presentation and workshop combination focused on association leadership – volunteer and staff - and the need to understand all the larger trends that surround the organization. The presentation portion studies changes in the real estate industry, brokers, agents, consumers, and the association. Jerry then presents a proposed design of the successful association of the future. The workshop uses group dynamics exercises and teams to develop solutions and dialogue based on new association concepts.
The presentation and workshop combination is ideal for a gathering of local association leaders and executives. It has been used effectively at annual leadership conferences or conventions as well as staff retreats.
Trends in Real Estate
As a facilitator of numerous local, state, and national association strategic plans, Jerry has unique, direct knowledge of current real estate concerns. This presentation is a compilation of dozens of strategic concerns, objectives and challenges from his recent strategic planning and research sessions. Typical topics are agents, brokers, real estate business, consumers and professionalism. Although strategic issues are local there are definite universal issues of concern.
This presentation can be used as a separate program or as a beginning of a strategic planning or visioning session.
